Jessica Klepser is sharing insight into her grief following the deaths of her ex-husband Christian Oliver and their daughters.
Six months after The Baby-Sitters Club actor, their daughters Madita, 12, and Annik, 10, and pilot Robert Sachs were killed in a plane crash in the Caribbean, Jessica shared she recently came across and old from her eldest.
In the clip where Madita sang a verse from Riley Roth's "When God Made You My Mother," she concluded the video with a message to Jessica. "I hope you like that song," she said. "I really love you, Mommy. Bye!"
And Jessica couldn't help but share how grateful she was to have stumbled across the sweet clip.
"This morning I went through old text exchanges I had with Madita and found this video," she captioned the recent Instagram post. "I don't even remember she had sent it! Kind of crazy that she holds her phone up to heaven the whole time she sings!"
She added, "I am so damn glad I got her that phone a little over a year ago!"
Jessica's post comes weeks after she wished Madita a happy 13th birthday and shared a special gift for her late daughter—a pair of heels.
"You were SO excited about turning 13," she reflected on Instagram in May. "I am sure daddy lets you (finally) wear heels today while you are all dancing up a storm! We miss you so much, we love you endlessly and we celebrate you, today and every day! And we'll keep dancing with you! With or without heels. Forever proud to be your mom."
She also included a snap of a framed photo of Madita, a candle adorned with an "M," the pair of shoes and a note that read, "Happy Birthday."
In January, Christian and his daughters were returning from a vacation in the Caribbean when their single-engine plane experienced engine trouble and crashed into the ocean, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force shared in a Facebook statement. The bodies of the four victims were recovered by the Coast Guard and pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
After their tragic deaths, Jessica had given insight into who her young daughters were.
"Madita, a vibrant 7th-grade student at Louis Armstrong Middle School, was known for her lively spirit and excelled in academics, dance, singing, and performances," read the statement posted on the Instagram of WundaBar Pilates, of which Jessica works. "Annik, a 4th-grade student at Wonderland Ave Elementary School, was recognized for her gentle yet strong demeanor. She was always the first to offer a kind word or a comforting hug."
"Her passions included basketball, swimming, and various forms of art," the statement continued. "The deep bond, infectious laughter, and adventurous spirit shared by Madita and Annik will be profoundly missed in their communities."
